I posted this same question on the old Answerbag site about seven years ago and for some obscure reason everybody behaved as if they'd never heard of Dokken then. If they were that obscure, how did I discover them myself in 1983, let alone read a flawed review for one of their gigs in which their song "We're Illegal" was inexplicably mistitled "We're An Eagle"? Furthermore, what is the best way to mock that reviewer's blunder such that it will be understood by the world? Here is the song everybody pretends they've never heard of:

I'm 60 and was aware during Dokkens heyday. I remember at the same point of time seeing Metal Church as an album in a shop. The Unforgettable Fire by U2 I got as soon as it came out. I can't stand glam metal very much but the exception to the rule is Yesterday and Today and Aerosmith.
I've heard of Metal Church but I haven't actually heard them. U2 are about as rock as Duran Duran and all those other 80s pop bands who filled up the charts instead of decent rock bands like Y&T and Aerosmith. The best thing about glam metal is that it continued a 70s rock style into the 80s.
