    Hey, I looked this up because I thought Bobby McFerrin sang that song. And there is a ton of stuff out there (and some of it contradicts each of these points, so I don't know) :    

    - - Bob Marley never sang it, he had died before the song was written. Bobby McFerrin, who is a "Jr" who had a big hit with the song in the 80's has a dad with the same name -- McFerrin Sr, Jr's dad, has died. But some people seem to think Jr has died, too.

    So, I don't know if any of it is true because I found different places saying different things. :)

    "Don't Worry be Happy" was definitely Bobby McFerrin and not Bob Marley. Someone put a pic of Marley on the YouTube video to hopefully fox people into thinking it was him (a possible April Fool prank) but it didn't fool me one bit.

    Yeah, I don't know. I guess I never thought it was Marley but there are certainly people who thought he did - you're not alone, based on my looking around various places.

    Oh -- I forgot to say - - at the least, many seem to say Marley sang it, too, because several places talked about it.
