I have wondered about them.. they would, like anyone self-employed or part of a small company, have to quit. No one is going to take that risk. They wouldn't be out on the street as that's not allowed at the moment..  So I guess they, like many are having to stay home and perhaps will apply for financial help/unemployment benefit.

Perhaps in England there are unemployment benefits available for people who engaged in illicit practices, but not here in the US.

In Germany and Spain they are now homeless.  The Brothels have closed and put the Sex Workers out on the street.  Those who have paid taxes do get Social Benefits.

Fully 1/3 have not paid taxes so they are in Limbo.  They have no money, and limited options with the Borders closed.  The majority of the Workers come from Poland, Romania and Bulgaria.  Even if they could go home they have no support system there.  a lucky few had somewhere to go, the majority are sleeping on the streets w/o food.

In Austria Caritas has opened special shelters providing food, medical care and shelter.  The Government is asking no questions as to why taxes have not been paid.  They are also helping Caritas in this situation by providing what is needed.

Here is one of many articles, this one is in English
