    I had the biggest bag of marbles on the the school ground because I won all the other kids marbles. Cheers!

    haha, I still wouldn’t have clue how to play marbles. I think I always got them in my stocking at Christmas, I was never told it was a game.

    No...my parents told everyone when I was a tiny little Dot that I lost my marbles soon after I was born...I to think that given there shape that they to had a ball getting me into trouble constantly...:(

    Yes.  'Boulders' were prized, 'pure-es' were worth the most, 'sparklies' the second most, 'blackies' and 'whities' third, followed by white/colored, and 'cat's eyes' were worth the least.  I sucked at the game, but my brother won a lot from the neighbor kids (jars full).  I'm not sure what exactly became of all those marbles, some broke or were heavily pockmarked, but I think a few are still out in the back shed.

    When I was growing up, my sister got jacks, my brothers and I got marbles.
