    "it is what it is."
That drives me crazy, too.  It sounds like such a cop-out.  They can't be bothered with sharing or don't think I can handle the explanation.  It's an insult to them and me.
    I agree.

    :)

I had to look up the meaning of "wordist" before I responded to your comment. But I can't find the comment now.
It's all good! I enjoyed your comment. :)

I made it up. It’s  take-off on racist or sexist or ageist, but I only meant it in jest. You anti-wordite, you. Grrrrrrr.

    (Still just kidding.)

Ha! I found a word out there "wordist" - - it had its own definition and everything! :)

Your definition is better than the one I found, ha! :)

And your definition makes your  original comment even funnier to me. This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at June 15, 2020 11:39 AM MDT

There actually is logic to "baseball club." In the early days of the organized game, c. 1860s-1870s, there were clubs that people could join, and these clubs sponsored teams.

Thank you for that. I’m responding to the question as it was asked, notwithstanding whether or not logic exists for the word or phrase.  I do not prefer to hear baseball club.

    "Onomatopoeia"

Simply a stupid word to me, let alone trying to remember how to spell it.

Considering its meaning, I find it funny that I think it sounds stupid when pronounced, too. :)

Wordist. I can never speak with you again. Bye.

[ Now it's back - - I couldn't find your comment for a second! I replied over on a comment elsewhere in the thread. ]
    :)

I didn't know the definition of that word and had to look it up. :)
It's all good -- I knew you were joking even if I didn't know the definition. :)
