Has Mother Nature giving you any free entertainment during the coronavirus?
I have been waching the cats in the hood try to catch June bugs it's pretty funny to watch. It is a bit early for June bugs in my area so maybe Mother Nature sent them early because she knew people are going nuts from bordon. Cheers!
Nothing different from other years. Everything turning green, flowers blooming, birds making new birds. Very cold, though. 15-20F below normal for mid-May.
I always feed the wild birds, but never usually get to see and appreciate them. Being home means I have actually been able to see them :) I also saw a very impressive hover fly the other day :)
I like watching the desert wildlife. That usually means geckos and lizards. I think the geckos are hilarious because they have such comical movements and they dart around. Sometimes I'll catch them chilling on the outside of my bathroom window, which is unsettling and quirky at the same time. My daughter recently had two take up residence on her bedroom window. She watched them for like two days straight and reported their every movement to me. lol
I've also wound up with a family of skinks in my back yard. Those are my new favorites because they waddle around but they do it crazy fast. They look more like snakes with legs. I hate snakes. But I love those little guys.
I get little guys like this. They look so chunky and adorable. Reading online now, it says they only reach three-inches long but I'm certain I have some that are twice that size.
We have geckos here. I like watching them. I think when they are hunting they hypnotist there pray by rythmaticaly moving their head and neck back and forth. Every year I add a pair of them to my garden to help controll grasshopers. Cheers!
I could never catch a skink. On my first ship we picked up a gecko in our shop while in Guam. It was there for quite a while, but it disappeared when went back state-side. I love snakes. My sister and I used to catch them when we were youngsters.
A couple of weeks ago a HUGE opposum appeared from between ou house and the neighbor's. It waddled across the street and disappeared between two other houses. I think it was pregnant.
No, it’s been the exact opposite: I’m being deprived of partaking in so much natural wonder. All those beautiful women’s faces that are being kept hidden. Sigh.
I like watching deer and love watching the young ones. At work deer love me because they know I'm the guy that has the keys to all the gardens and I will be throwing something good for them to eat over the fence. Cheers!
