What is something you have never been really very good at saving?

Stupid people from themselves   (Took most of my life to realize it was a waste of my time, but better late than never.).

The human intellect cannot be put in possession of its object by some exterior agent that takes it there. There is for us no knowledge except our own knowledge, no truth except self-acquired truth

(I actually learned that over 56 years and I have spent at least 55 years trying to find the exception to that rule with no luck---Guess it must be true.)

We can’t re-order human nature, except with education, and we see how that has been playing out (!). Like serving steak to vegans. People have a right to be, to emulate (and to enable, i.e., vote for other) abject morons.

Time was, the Spartans would routinely toss their rejects off of a mountainside. Were those folks onto something? This post was edited by Don Barzini at May 24, 2020 6:30 PM MDT

Perhaps we should revisit such ancient principles of wisdom...

    Damn good point.
Even though time is man made, it does make time important while we are here on Earth.

How is time man-made?  Time exists independent of anything that humans do or don’t do, and humans cannot create time, can only use it or attempt to manage it.

In my world, time is a measurement of how the earth goes around the sun through space.
    Time and space.
We measure that space by a word we know, in the English language, as "time."
    Take your birthday, for example.
It measures the amount of 'time" the earth has been around the sun since your body has been on earth.
It doens't measure how "Old" your soul is.
It is simply a measure of space and the earth and you the body your soul is using to be on earth.
    Big hugs and loves!

    Oh my goodness, Shuhak~
You already know how, my friend.
You started life swimming in your mother's womb.
    Darling,
    You do know honey.
    Please....
It doesn't matter how old you are.
    Please....
Give yourself the opportunity to know how nice it is to swim in water that will support you.
    You naturally float.
You CAN keep your head above water.
    Doggie paddle!
    YOU CAN DO IT!!!
    I am sure of this!!!!!!!!
    Hugs and loves.
If it helps any, when I am frightened of something I don't think I can do,
I think of,  "the little engine that could."
I wish I were there to help you.
    :) :)!!

    I was being humorous.

However, it is true that I can't swim.  It may have something to do with the fact that I'm kind of terrified of water.  How many people can say that they were declared hopeless by the American Red Cross in regards to learning to swim?  (*raises his hand*)  Even my sister (who is a good swimmer) tried to teach me once - in very shallow water no less - and I nearly drowned her.  Although she was quite sore (literally), I didn't leave any scars.

It is just my way to try and help people and animals along their way.
When it comes to water, it is my friend.
I would like everyone to not take it for granted or be scared of it.
It supports you.  You need it and it needs you to flow and know.

    My bank account.
Living here is costing more and more beyond our idea of feasible retirement.

I commiserate with you. I am also in California, and my wife and I are already contemplating to where we might live when we retire . . . (someday in the far future)
