I don’t know whether it is or not. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it.

Absolutely.  Put one cup of vinegar or 1/2 cup ammonia in your wash if you want sanitization.  If all items are going into the dryer there is no need.  A hot dryer disinfects your clothes.

If you are using bleach in a load DO NOT add ammonia or vinegar.  No need and DANGEROUS. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at June 1, 2020 2:00 PM MDT

Yes and no! We've had Dettol laundry detergent here for a good while - it works I'd think. But the question really is do we NEED to treat our laundry that way? If we wash it, it's clean  - I'd question the over-emphasis on sanitisation - I think it gives a false sense of security as we cannot, EVER fully protect ourselves from germs, and I am not sure we should try!

I think most ads for cleaning products and beauty products and health supplements and automobiles and clothing and yadda-yadda are scams and misleading.
