For those of you who had a high school sweetheart, but did not eventually stay together (such as marriage),

at the time, did both of you, either of you, or one of you specifically think that you’d always be together for the rest of your lives?

    I did not really have a sweetheart during high school. However,  a certain girl seemed to have an interest in me, and was one of a few who would talk to me. She eventually married a friend of mine who died of cancer at the age of 25 (?)   She became involved with a satanic church, according to police, and stabbed a guy to death during a robbery.

    He did ask to marry me. I would have liked to say yes.
    Mum said, no, I was too young.
    And he went his separate way.
