"If Jesus could perform miricales why didn't he un-crucify himself and turn the Romans into fish?"

    Element 99
It's a good serious question and deserves a good serious analysis.

First, it wasn't Jesus who performed miracles. Who said that? None other than Peter, one of the most famous disciples of Jesus. Soon after the departure of Jesus Peter reminds people who Jesus was in these words: "Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth WAS a MAN approved OF GOD among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which GOD DID by him in the midst of you, as you yourselves know." You'll find that in Acts 2:22

2- There WAS a miracle associated with the crucifixion of Jesus. It's right there in Matthew 12:40 Jesus himself is saying that his miracle will be the miracle of Jonah, for as Jonah was miraculously alive despite eye witnesses who would have testified that he had died because they saw it with their own eyes so would he, Jesus, be miraculously alive despite eye witnesses who would testify that he had died because they saw it with their own eyes.

3- So although the Romans were not turned into fish they and those who had bore false witness to have Jesus crucified to death were fooled into thinking that they had succeeded. However as Jesus said he would be miraculously alive just as Jonah was miraculously alive.

4- It may not be easy to see how it worked in the case of Jonah but it is extremely easy to see how it worked in the case of Jesus. Crucifixion is a tortuous way of killing people which took days thus prolonging the agony. Sometimes it took so long that even the Romans who devised it to take long, got tired of waiting and broke the legs of the crucified people to speed up their death. Jesus was on the cross for less than 9 hours, not days, AND his legs were not broken. Death by crucifixion under those circumstances was almost impossible. That is why Pilate, when asked for permission to take the body down for burial, expressed amazement that Jesus could have died so soon. Pilate was not keen to crucify the man in the first place anyway.

5- That he hadn't died explains a lot of strange things in the Bible, and is probably why he was disguised so well outside the tomb that even his admirer, Mary, was fooled even after speaking to him, taking him to be a gardener. If he had already died there was no need to fear that the Romans might recognise him, catch him and kill him again and no need for the disguise. "It is ordained for man ONCE to die" not twice or more times. Who said that? The Bible in Hebrews 9:27. If Jesus hadn't died the first time then there is good reason to disguise himself for if the Romans caught him they might make sure he died in their second attempt.

I admire the persistence of those proclaiming the Gospel message, but you may have to accept that it won't hit home until the time is right, if ever.  This post was edited by Malizz at October 14, 2016 8:01 AM MDT

People who have this adolescent approach to miracles and Christ's life, are far too mentally immature to even grasp and develop a manner of thought that would lead them to any conclusion that would even be understood by them.

In other words, you wouldn't understand if I told you.

Tbh, this rant seems to say more about the author than those whom it is supposed to be aimed at.
