Mahalo for your reply OS. I would do that too. Otherwise I would be presenting a view that is not mine and pretended it was. That is clearly lying. But to tell folks you are going to take the opposite view and argue that too AS IF you did believe it I think is an excellent way to exercise the brain and stretch it. For all you know you might convince yourself with your arguments! Happy Sunday! :)
I play the Devil's Advocate all the time. However, I always preface it with "To play the Devil's advocate..." so I never AM lying. I'm just simply proving that I am well-read enough on both sides and mature enough to realize everything has at least one selling point--of which one can later argue with a "but." It's good rhetorical skills, and it's the reason why I did so well in AP ELC.
