    All of the lawn mowing services in our neighborhood.
    Rap from vehicles coming down the street.
    Squalling little brats in the grocery stores.
    My wife when she talks loudly. It's like piercing my ears with a drill bit.

    One of the most annoying sounds is the leaf blower.  
    Definitely with you on the squalling brats, particularly the ones with the high-pitched screams.
    The City garbage trucks that pick up garbage at 1:30 AM.
    People who sit on their car horns.

    Loud -- I mean, LOOOOUUUDDDDDDDD - - backfiring motorcycles. (Or whatever causes that noise -- many motorcyclists around here do it on purpose for sure, though.)


    Seriously, what is the point to make THAT much noise, other than "Please notice me. Look at me. Hey, here I am. Can you hear me?"

    (Sorry for the negative answer. I realize I'm a hypocrite because, in my own ways, I want people to notice me, too. And I suspect, in our own individual ways, we all do.)

      In my opinion, it’s not a negative answer at all, because it addresses exactly what is asked for in the question. It would be impossible to answer accurately without naming something that you don’t like to hear.

    Thanks, Randy D. Maybe you're right about my answer.

    I guess maybe my self-criticism on the negativity of my answer was my assumed thoughts of the motorcyclists who make the noise. But, I guess, even then, for whatever reasons they choose to be so loud with their vehicle, they know they are making a lot of noise. I still can't think of a reason for them to make that much noise other than they want others to notice and hear it.

    It isn't just the motorcycles.  This has become a car fashion lately, too.  Sometimes they ride up and down my block and it's ridiculous.  You're right, they look for the attention because there isn't any other reason for that to happen.

    Yes, you're right -- I've noticed many car drivers making a lot of excessively loud noise with their cars, too.

    I'll take your word because I don't know anything about motorcycles as far as brands/models or whatever. :)
    But maybe I could invent a model of vehicles simply called "Loud."
