Automatically unsubscribed from topics and questions?

I notice it seems quite often for whatever reason, I get unsubscribed from topics so that I can be sure and get notifications for them with the bell, especially even my own questions. Just curious if this is normal or a glitch? Not sure if the site has always been like that? I do press to subscribe again, but might have to start giving up. I don't understand it. I never unsubscribed from any.

    Well I just put headphones on. Got a notification, and no doorbell or noise at all. They are up all the way, and I've heard other things. So I am not sure?

    But you said you're not sure. That's something only you can decide. How can any of us know whether you are sure about something?

    I’ve always had that issue with questions I ask, I will get notification if someone answers the same day I post  it, but If someone answers it a day or so later,  I never get notified, it’s weird.

    Most likely what is happening is when you post a reply to an answer to one of your questions is you are forgetting to check thw box that says "Send me notifications...." when you post your reply.  You have to check that even if you are already subscribed. If you do not the system will unsubscribe you.  I have that problem as well. Especially on my questions...I normally make a point to not check the box for questions I just answer.

    You should only have to check the box once but I believe it relies on cookies. If you're using private browsing or certain browsers (like tor), chances are it won't stick.

    I have to check it every time on my phone (Android Samsung internet or Desktop w/Chrome) or it will unsubscribe me. This post was edited by my2cents at August 5, 2020 2:25 PM MDT

    I have desktop Chrome and it works fine for me... I wonder if it's got something to do with settings?

    Just saw this. And I am on a desktop. I use Firefox, and I accept cookies, so not sure. Still have to check it usually every time.
