Kittigate came first becasue I've know kittigate for a long time and even if this question would have been asked off answerMug, would have been my answer. I would have baffeled all that heard me say, "kittigate," but that silly cat with the flag has stuck in my head as the true crown of Canada. It probably will until I die.
