Wash your mouth out with soap. 80s music was the bomb. Soundtrack of my teens. All but two of Icehouse's hits were in the 80s (Code Blue was released after the penultimate digit ticked over to 9), Floyd and Queen were still kicking a$$, hair metal was invented ...

I rarely listened to the radio during that decade. Or watched much TV.

    What a great year!

I love so many of the songs others have posted - - even one by my Number One Favorite Band - Simple Minds!!

And one by The Pointer Sisters.

    And that a-ha song. :)

Tears for Fear, Talking Heads -- and many others. :)

With my answer, I could almost try to argue that my answer / song could possibly one of the best songs of that entire decade. I'm thinking this song might have been one of the songs you added to your playlist after I had posted it on the site once - - I might be wrong on that, though. :)

Good to see you, CameraObscura! I always enjoy seeing you! Thanks for asking this question, too. :) I enjoyed all the answers and everything.

    Anyway, here's my answer :

Dream Academy's "Life in a Northern Town"

Yep, you did introduce me to this song, I ended up buy it in itunes, I think I told you that. Lol I had no idea so many good songs from that year. I had just happened to watching the video I posted with the question and it had the year on the main screen which made me ask the question.

Yay for me!! An Asker's Pick! And may I say  -- "Totally Deserved," ha! ?
I  admit -- 'Life in a Northern Town' "sends" me!
I have three Dream Academy CDs/albums - - all three are excellent for me.

And I'll also say that I got chills listening to The Pointer Sisters in Livvie's answer -- those  sisters have bettered my life in countless ways. Even in that very fun and upbeat "Neutron Dance" -- their vocal harmonies just kick you-know-what!! Example -- listen to them on " brand new Chevrolet" - - so great! Especially the syllable - - "let' in "Chevrolet"- - I know - -i sound obsessive. And I am. :)

    Thanks, again!
    :)

And Katrina and the waves (also, if you don't know it, check out their "Sun Street." it's my favorite by them -- love them) - - and, like I said, so many other songs in your thread!

Yup - - I'm posting Sun Street!! This song (from 1986) makes me feel    -- SO GREATTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Fun music video, too!!
