    A failing body –

    * Eyesight - I used to be able to read signs over a mile away.  Now I can barely read my bible when it’s right under my nose (even though I’m wearing bifocals).

    * Memory – I used to have a nearly eidetic memory.  Now sometimes I can’t even remember why I went into a certain room.

     * Arthritis – some of my fingers aren’t even straight anymore, and they ache.

    * Memory – I used to have a nearly eidetic memory.  Now sometimes I can’t even remember why I went into a certain room. (wait, did I already mention this?)

You have a jolly good sense of humor even in your "misery" my friend. That always helps. I share what you say although I did not have an eidetic memory. It was better than it is though. So was everything else. Thank you for your exellent reply Shuhak! We shall overcome. Everything but getting older. You can't win 'em all! :)

Your mind saying you can still do things you did in your 20s ... and your body paying for trying to do so.

    1.  What Shuhak said.
    2.  What Walter said.
    3.  Whippersnappers on my lawn.

That item 3 reminded me of OLD SCHOOL whom I know you know/knew. He'd always say "get off my lawn you dam* kids" as evidence of getting cranky crotchety as he got older. Substitute WHIPPERSNAPPERS. Same thing. I can only "me too". But it beats the alternative. So far. Thank you for your reply E and Happy Monday to thee and thine. STAY SAFE!

    ha ha ha

One of my "bucket list" goals is to yell at kids to "get off my lawn".

May you achieve that bucket list goal and could you share it with us when you do? Some of us only have vicarious. We don't have a lawn. It's green-dyed asphalt! And we're in a retirement community where there are no kids. Thank you for your reply Walt and Happy Monday! :) This post was edited by RosieG at August 18, 2020 11:11 AM MDT

Actually I don't think I ever scored more than  $10. on a winning ticket.

I think the most we ever won was $11. We stopped playing when we had to shelter in place in mid-March. We stopped doing everything that was non-essential and buying lottery tickets is tops on that list. Thank you for your reply Kg and Happy Tuesday to thee! STAY SAFE! :)

For me personally my terror is losing my memory. Senility robbing me of my former life which would be gone if I lost my memory. Thank you for showing up even if you didn't answer the question. Happy Sunday tom! :)

Well, I might have said arthritis in my right wrist---but after trying a mouse pad with a wrist support, I apparently don't have arthritis.

Years ago my son gave me a mousepad with wrist support and I've always used it. What good would having a pain-free wrist be if your mind were gone and lived in senility? I wonder. Do the more intelligent folks among us escape senility or are they more prone to it? I shall ask. Thank you for your reply tom! :)

Now that's CUTE! You corrected something as AN ADDITION not as a REPLACEMENT. You did not change history. You know what I'm finding now more and more and more? No matter how many times I READ something before I post it when I go back for whatever reason I almost always find something else to correct that I just didn't catch. That happens REGULARLY these days. Not rarely but REGULARLY. So far except for he who shall not be named NO ONE ever calls me on it. Folks are just plain nice and kind and it was embarrassing to me at first but now I just expect it and accept it and I'm STOIC. But I don't do what you did. I REPLACE it. My congrats on your nerve and BRAVERY...not feeling obliged to replace. Just leaving it there to show where you were. Maybe I'm gonna copy you. That way I can have my cake and eat it too, right? :) This post was edited by RosieG at August 23, 2020 10:33 AM MDT
