I mix it in, every single time.

    You?

The same thing happens with yogurt, and that liquid is called whey. I mix it in.

I was joking. I doubt many people care about the whey information.

OK. But you know, where there's a will, there's a whey!

I don’t know how in the heck that happened, nor did I know it was even possible on here. Twilight Zone?

I pour it off after the initial stirring when the product is first opened for use.   I like sour cream thick.  Some of the off brands are not.

Mix it. There's not enough of it to make the sour cream runny.

I mix it unless there something blue and fuzzy on top.

Wow, seems wasteful and extreme. The liquid that separates and rises to the top might be 1/25th part of the whole, and doesn’t represent that the product has gone bad. If someone is wealthy enough to throw away perfectly good food, though . . .

It is just gross. If it starting to separate, it is starting to spoil.

Like I stated above, I’m not referring to spoiled food. I’m referring to throwing away food that is not spoiled just because some separation floats to its top.
Many foods go through that process over time, and it’s not an automatic nor a singular indication of spoilage.

I consider it spoiled.  I do not eat any dairy product that has watery separation.

Like I said, throwing away perfectly good food. I guess some people can afford it.
