    Sandwich:

    a) two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between

    b) one slice of bread covered with food ("open-faced)

(Surprisingly, hot dogs, hamburgers, and even tacos are considered sandwiches on the internet---so it's used more as a concept than a term with a specific application.) This post was edited by tom jackson at August 18, 2020 3:03 PM MDT

Here, let me help by adding to the conversation:

What about an ice cream sandwich?  Is it a sandwich or isn’t it?

    :)

Not if you forget about it and leave it on the patio table till tomorrow.

And referring to the picture above, "You can't fix stupid." This post was edited by tom jackson at August 19, 2020 12:18 PM MDT

  • We used to count it as a sandwich Randy. The heels of the loaf were especially good for folding without falling apart. That was important cause we'd make a sandwich out of anything. Thanks for reminding me of something I hadn't thought of in years.

(In your first sentence, comma after the word “sandwich“.)

Please don’t thank me; I am not the person who posted the question.

Try correcting it? It wasn't that difficult; it is not all right to use "alright" in standard English.

Sure. It sounds more like half a sandwich to me.
