    The Boer war happened in South Africa half a century after the Irish potato famine. It was about diamonds and gold. The Boers had them, the Rooineks wanted them.

    I know Startibartfast. I read about it but, the only thing the Irish had to do with the war was voluntarily aiding the British fight over there. So, many Irish died in the Boer War I surmise. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at August 27, 2020 5:20 AM MDT
