For those of you who enjoy watching nature-related shows and documentaries, do you root for the prey or for the predators?

I love watching these shows, and intellectually, I know that the predators need to eat too, I know it's nature's laws, but I do have a problem seeing prey being taken down by predators.  What's even worse is when the rest of the herd or the rest of the school of fish, etc., don't jump in and gang up on the predator(s)!  Once again, I know it's all instinctual they way they act and/or react, but if several water buffalo or several seals or several rabbits joined together and took on the lionesses or hyenas or hawks or sharks or wolves, the outcome might be different.  I do celebrate and cheer the prey that successfully gets away, especially when they are already in the jaws of the predators.

    I root for them all.

I hear what you're saying, and I'll admit that it depends on who is the predator and who is the prey. I have species bias, too.

If I had lived during the ancient days of the Romans Coliseum when Christians were being made  prey for the lion predators,  I would have been rooting for the lions.

You're right! Thanks to the vigilance of concerned citizens like you, it is much easier for us grammarians in blue to do our jobs. And as you see, even those in uniform are not immune from error.

If you and Randy haven't realized it yet, I'll let you in on a little secret. I'm part of the internal affairs division  of the GCA (Grammar Cops of America). I don't bother with correcting the spelling, grammar and punctuation of the regular, unassuming citizens of the internet. I'm only interested in policing the police.

Step aside, Stu. I’m the one who gets to seduce her. It’s written in the script for next week’s episode of “Kops on Kall: da Grammer Presinkt Philes”.

    Yes!!

I see dozens of episodes revolving around idiots who write "your stupid" as their response to everything they disagree with.

"My stupid what?" would be my catch phrase!

We could literally change the world, Stu.  :)

Many people pronounce route like root.  I've always said route like out.  I think either way is correct.  Don't apologize for that.  You did make a booboo in your post, but others have covered that sufficiently.

I don't know why they have to show that, I turn the channel.  There is no pleasure for me in watching a zebra torn to pieces or little bunny fluflu being eaten.

Never thought of it this way, but I guess you could say that it's a kind of nature porn.
