If you ever had occasion to laugh at something while you were in pain, did the laughter help relieve the pain?

Last time I laughed about something funny while in pain did not really help relieve pain at that time.
Laughter is supposed to be the best medicine.

Sometimes laughing made the pain worse...especially where the sutures were.

It did - the pain was chronic, laughter helped a little. Not enough.

Will share a story with you...
On one of my jobs for a client,
Was under the deck in the backyard
of the house doing repairs when the owners kid
    (maybe 10 YO) started walking
down the concrete steps. He tripped
and bruised his knee. He started
YELLING in pain as he sat on the step.
I told him if he would go to the
center of the pain, the pain would disappear.
He looked at me like i was crazy and continued yelling in pain.
Then he looked at me with a big smile on his face.
He had stopped yelling and he was smiling.
Just then his Mom came running down the stairs,
"Oh my sweetie are you ok?"...And he started yelling in pain.

    Laughter is good though
    especially if it's deep
and consuming ...haha This post was edited by Baba at September 18, 2020 5:11 PM MDT
