“The Lion Sleeps Tonight” by The Tokens, originally in 1939.  Has been covered many times by many artists.

I remember a parody version about Lorena Bobbitt.

'In the kitchen, the mighty kitchen, Lorena takes a knife...'

You can (painfully) imagine the rest.

And was an English language version of the traditional Zulu song "Mbube", first recorded by Solomon Linda in South Africa shortly before George Weiss translated it for the Tokens' version. Linda claimed to have written it in the 1920s but it's more likely he was simply the first to write it down. Oral tradition is more common in Africa.

I like this one much more! Thanks!

Imagine how different our society would be if no humans born in the past 50-60 years had passed down their ignorant prejudices to their offspring!

Well, I'd say the virus spared your ears!

I knew so many people growing up who basically worshiped Axel Rose and I never understood it.

Remember this song at all? You might be too young.

I love “Tarzan Boy” by Baltimora!  Why did the eighties decade ever have to end?  Grrrrrrr.

No, I don’t remember that one.  I do know a lot of music from before my time, not this one though.

I'd never heard this. Better than many of the other songs you've shared with me in the past! (That's not saying much, hehe).

Reminds me a little bit of this, from earlier in your youth:
