Why do we have to click on the question to find out who posted it? I'd much rather know that beforehand rather than who last responded.

Under the way the system currently works, questions are shown with the avatar of the person who posted them, and unless they have not been answered yet, the last person who answered is identified below the question.  If the person who posted it has the generic AnswerMug avatar showing, or if one does not recognize the personalized avatar, then one of the only ways to know who posted it is by clicking on it, which automatically gives the question a "view".  I think that's why some questions have dozens of views but only 3 answers, for example.

There are certain questions that give away who posted them, mainly by their content.

I had the same thought.  Some Avatars are recognizable, but others are not.  Some posters I have no desire to engage.

It has been reported.  Some other issues are rightfully taking precedence before that fix is made.

  • Do you know what's at the top of the list?

Groups and photos.  Transferring the data from those has been a nightmare for them and JA has had to do a lot of the group stuff individually...and there are quite a lot of groups.

To the best of my knowledge there are two developers and JA.  She doesn't have unlimited funds to pay for more help.

I do not know that it is something a mod could help with.

  • Oh...When I was a mod on here I had the ability to do pretty much everything JA could do. I just figured she had another admin mod by now. That would take some of the load off of her.

I am not familiar with how the data transfer works or who can do what in respect to that data.  You would have to ask JA directly.

I'd care about you if you pick your battles properly.   First of all, how about that disgusting prompt on the bottom there that is a lie?  You don't want email?  You need to click on it.  How about not having to click on that unless you DO want email?

Would that not make a lot more sense than causing 1,000s of unwanted emails from this site? I really care about opening up my email and seeing that half the members LIKED some post of mine with no comment even.

    WHO CARESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS????

Sharonna, you can choose exactly what email notifications you receive, if any, and you only have to do it once.

Click on "Settings" at the top of the page to the left of your avatar.  Click on "Notifications".  There is an entire page of choices, uncheck the boxes next to things you do not wish to receive email notifications for.

  • I don't mind that part.  After I do click though, it would be nice for the original post to include the date and time it was posted.  All the replies have that info, but the questions do not.

I'd like to be able to see who posted the question prior to clicking on it too.

I'd like to have the most recent reply at the top of the page.

And I'd like the "Post Reply" button at the top of the page rather than the bottom.

I think that's about it for now. :)

There is a means at the top of the page to go directly to post reply.  In the box above the question, in red, is "Quick Reply", click on that and it will take you directly to the compose reply box.

I don't usually do quickies, but in this case, I'll make an exception.  THANK YOU!!!
