What is the worst thing that anyone has ever taken from you? ~

I'm not sure what kind of answer you are looking for.  The worst thing should be the most unpleasant or least wanted thing. Taken from could mean stolen or received something given to them.

I’m not looking for any particular answers nor any particular type of answers; it’s just an off-the-wall question that people may answer any way they see fit.

Yeah, I've been there, too. We flow onward, though.

I know you want to know what was the best/most cherished thing that someone has ever stolen from me, but that's not what you asked.  :)

Joy.   I got it back though. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at November 24, 2020 12:37 PM MST

Why would I ask about the worst if I really meant the best/most cherished?

I'm afraid so. I've grown to be an insanely cynical person. It might not show on Answermug, but it's there.

Once a couple of guys snatched my dog and took it for a one way ride. They took it about 6 weeks before Christmas so after 4 weeks I was thinking about cancelling Christmas but one morning my dog showed up - his paws were bloody from all the walking and he was very thin but we nursed him back to health and had the best Christmas ever. It took me a couple of of weeks to find out who snatched my dog then I beat on them untill I was sure that they would never do it again.  Cheers!

Thank you for your answer, but what was the worst thing that was taken from you in that story?

I guess it would be my days because it caused me to have the worst 32 days of my life. Cheers!

A doctor took my sciatica pain with surgery. That was the worst pain ever. For me.

Ditto. Discectomy and fusion. I was hobbling on a stick, couldn't get a job or drive a car (sitting was limited to ten minutes max), addicted to opioids ...
With a fortnight of the surgery I was drug free and running again. Took a while longer to get a job (tough to find an employer willing to risk a guy who was medically invalided, even if the cause no longer applies), but eventually got there too.
