What is your favorite specie of lizard?

I prefer salamanders.

If you had asked my least favorite, that would have been a breeze - my ex. 

I'm very fond of our native water dragons.

They tend to get quite tame around humans, especially if fed.
They teach me a lot about the parts of our behaviour which are controlled by the upper brain stem.
There's something very dinosaur-ish about them; I'd like them a lot less if they were big enough to see me as food.

Gekkos are rather cool too. I love their little chirping noises at night.

I've seen that green lizard in Death in Paradise - wouldn't mind having one as a semi-wild pet.

I have slow worms in my garden (legless lizards), which I think are great, but I've always been fond of the Komodo dragon and the Frilled lizard.

I like them all and would like to have a big one someday and name him Pete or Petunia if it's a girl.
