I would cry myself to sleep every night and dread every day.

I am a warm-weather beach bunny kinda girl.

Why didn’t you just say so, Doll? That’s easy!

I'd go south. I would be in rural Ohio, but with a number of medium length drives to a few cities and towns. Life would be slower, but with less access to medical facilities, which could affect my well being.  My wife would hate it. This post was edited by Element 99 at December 8, 2020 7:38 AM MST

North or south life would be pretty much the same but more crowded.

West would put me in the Gulf of Mexico.

East would put me in a nice little small town with less worry of hurricanes, but absolutely hot as hell without the ocean breeze.

Believe it or not, I'd be more at peace and way more independent.

I wouldn't be able to get to work, and WFH could be tricky as internet services in regional areas tend to be spotty.

  • If I lived 100 miles north of where I live now, I would have to be a real mermaid instead of a human who uses a mermaid for her avatar.  I would live in the middle of the river that's the border between Argentina and Uruguay.

If I lived 100 miles east of where I live now, I would live in Uruguay:

If I lived 100 miles south of where I live now, I would live on a farm in Pila, BA.

If I lived 100 miles west of where I live now, I would live on a farm in Chacabuco, BA.

100 miles above sea level living in my space capsule would be peaceful and I would have a great view of the planet.

  • Probably not very different. It's all good in either direction. I'd still be in California and I'm familiar with much of this state.

100 miles, 161 KM north would put me just over the border in the Czech Republic - still in Quarintine, goood beer wine etc
100 Miles, 161 KM east would put me over the border in Slovakia or Hungary; good Beer, Wine Cheaper Steaks still in Quarintine
100 miles , 181 KM would put on the Slovenian Border close to Hungary
100 MIles, 161 KM would put me in the Karentan; great skiing in the Summer World Nude Body Painting Festival

100 miles South: just about in France. So a big change (different country, different language and culture.) I am not good at learning languages.

Or maybe the Channel islands -  very attractive way of life but you have to be rich!

100 miles East: poorer. Too close to London and the Home Counties - higher cost of living.

100 miles North: South Wales. Probably not very much change to my life. Learning Welsh would be a challenge!

100 miles West - in Devon or Cornwall, very attractive but a long way from the rest of the country, rather deprived and with high house-prices due to wealthy Londoners buying second-homes there.
