What was a situation when, in retrospect, you realized that your first impression of someone/something was extremely incorrect? ~

That's not really happened to me much. There was a guy I refused to meet because online he kept getting angry.... my refusing to meet him made him more angry, but we did keep talking and I think a long while after that I did meet him. I was wrong about him posing a risk to me in terms of his anger. However, he still wasn't 'right' for me.

I was at at get-together at a wife's friend's house and I met this big, beer-bellied, bushy bearded biker-looking dude.  When he started talking I told him he sounded like a professor. He was. And yes, he was a biker.

I'm having a hard time with this one. Is it because I try to reserve judgements or do I have great intuition? I'm not sure. A little bit of both or neither?

Why; what is your intuition telling you?

    I think it's a bit of both.

So I’m beginning to grow on you after that original bad impression is slowly fading away. I like that, I really do.

Of course, you thought my reply was about you! I thought you were asking my intuition about myself and why I have a hard time thinking about such a situation!

    Of course.

I know, right? I was going to ask you to stop obsessing about me, but then I reflected on how much it must be doing for you. I wouldn‘t want the responsibility or guilt of you going off the deep end, so I will do you a favor and let it keep going. Oh, look, there’s a spot in my schedule opening up next week for four hours and twelve minutes!  I should pencil you in for the first half of that, shouldn’t I?

You waited too long to get back to me, someone else has also caught my eye in the meantime, so now I have to split the four hours and twelve minutes three ways.

    However will I cope?

I think it's now been 2-3 days. I'll bet it's now going to be split 27 ways, isn't it?

You took way too long getting back to me again. Don’t worry, you know I wouldn’t try to squeeze you into such a narrow time slot. I’m sure there are other things you can do for me around here while I entertain the ladies who are courteous enough to respond to my invitations . . .

He's cute. Okay, I'm in. I'll even make him a sandwich.
