“Emotion“ by The Bee Gees, 1978.

    Lyrics:

    It's over and done
But the heartache lives on inside, oh
And who is the one you're clingin' to
    Instead of me tonight?

    And where are you now
    Now that I need you?
    Tears on my pillow
    Wherever you go

    I cry me a river
    That leads to your ocean
But you never see me fall apart
In the words of a broken heart
It's just emotion that's taken me over
Tied up in sorrow, lost in my soul
But if you don't come back
    Come home to me, darling
    You know that there'll be
Nobody left in this world to hold me tight
Nobody left in this world to kiss good night
Good night, good night, good night
    Good night

    I'm there at your side
I'm part of all the things you are, ah
But you got a part of someone else
You go to find your shining star

    And where are you now
    Now that I need you
    Tears on my pillow
    Wherever you go

    I cry me a river
    That leads to your ocean
You never see me fall apart
In the words of a broken heart
It's just emotion that's taken me over
Tied up in sorrow, lost in my soul
But if you don't come back
    Come home to me, darling
    You know that there'll be
Nobody left in this world to hold me tight
Nobody left in this world to kiss good night
    Good night

    And where are you now
    Now that I need you?
    Tears on my pillow
    Wherever you go

    I cry me a river
    That leads to your ocean
You never see me fall apart
In the words of a broken heart
It's just emotion that's taken me over
Tied up in sorrow, lost in my soul
But if you don't come back
    Come home to me, darling
    You know that there'll be
Nobody left in this world to hold me tight
Nobody left in this world to kiss good night
Good night, good night, good night

In the words of a broken heart
It's just emotion that's taken me over
Tied up in sorrow, lost in my soul
But if you don't come back
    Come home to me, darling

    .............................................

Not very many songs have lyrics that make a whole heck of a lot of sense, lol.

That assessment is somehow not surprising coming from you, Randy.

This 80-seconds-long song might be more confusing - - until the very end, that  is :)

I'm shouting now:  I LOVE EVERYTHING LAURIE ANDERSON DOES!!

Weird. Creepy. I don't get it. But that's okay.

    Just in case:

"I dreamed I had to take a test at a Dairy Queen on another planet"

I find the piece really funny.  :)
She's purposely manipulating a recording of her voice reciting that sentence.

She became famous in the 80's doing a lot of electronic manipulation type of music. And she tells stories.

Here's the very first song I heard from her. She's remarkable to me but she really needs to be listened to a lot to really appreciate all she can do. And, again, she's not for everybody most likely, ha!  :)

    "O Superman"      Laurie Anderson

    (Yes, it's 8 1/2 minutes long! ha!)
