  • Basically, yes. The 1918 pandemic died out once so many people had gotten it and become immune that the virus had nowhere to go. So vaccination or herd immunity. Those are our options.

    I think that's an accurate statement.  I might add that the virus will end when enough people are vaccinated to create herd immunity much the same as when there is enough fire retardant spread that the flames have no more fuel to consume.
