Not any more but when I was in the (Canadian) Navy 'going on a run'  meant a drinking binge.
"Me and my buddy George were on a run'. (George is my running buddy)

    As a civilian I would have 'drinking.buddies'

“Me and my buddy George My buddy George and I)

When listing people in which you are included, always place yourself last in the list. The reason the word “I” is used instead of “Me” is that if you were the only person performing the action of the sentence, you would not say, “Me was on a run,” “Me went to the front desk,” “Me have two fishing licenses,” etc. Consequently, when adding more people to the list, “I” is the appropriate way to refer to oneself.

The reason that 'I' is used instead of 'me' is that 'I' is used as a subject pronoun and 'me' is used as an object pronoun. What you present as a reason is just a tool for checking that the sentence is grammatically correct.

What a coincidence! I also picked up those terms in the military. Thanks for your answer, Shipmate!

I've never used the term buddy. I've always referred to them as my friends. :)

No. I do not run or drink.

I am part of a 'nature gang'.

I'm not a runner nor do I drink with any regularity.  If I've consumed a bottle of wine in the past year, I've had a lot to drink.

I've heard them but don't use them.  I am more likely to say Connor and Jaden have been running around together  since elementary school.  I never have described a friendship as a drinking one....I don't believe.  But I have used the term partying as in  They are out partying tonight ; don't wait up.
