What is the first food item, meal, dish, or beverage you think of immediately upon hearing the term “ethnic food”?

 

 

Introduced to a chef or by a chef? And if it’s the latter, introduced by whom?  When?  The whole premise you state appears to show that its origin was other than Vancouver, and therefore other than Canada. I sincerely doubt that sushi originated in Canada.

It was on a food show...'Food facts or Fiction". I don't recall the exact details, but sushi came from Japan, but the chef modified it by inventing sticky rice.

 

  Then you’re referring to sticky rice, not sushi itself as having originated in Canada, is that it?
