I don't know Nanoose but that was my first thought too. How SAD is THAT? Thank you for your reply and Happy Tuesday to thee and thine! :)

Again....if you resist arrest it will not end well for you.

This includes if you point a gun at officers while handcuffed.

The police body cameras were not turned on to show that the man even held a gun. But they did turn on their cameras some time after they finished shooting.

Why would NBC news and Yahoo News reports both say the body cameras were not turned on while the shooting took place? They turned on their body cameras after the smoke had cleared.

There are also witnesses who say they never saw him carrying a gun. This post was edited by Kittigate at May 4, 2021 1:38 AM MDT

They lied. It did not match the narrative they wanted to report.  I just watched the video.   It was on entire time.

Well that is very interesting. If I was a cop firing a dozen or so rounds into a guy in handcuffs lying on the ground i would not want my body camera turned on.

    1. Camera was recording.  I watched the video.
    2. He was NOT on the ground in hand cuffs at the time of the shooting.
    3. He was standing pointing the gun in the officer's  direction.

    So much misinformation here.

His hands were cuffed behind his back so it would be pretty hard to aim a gun - it also seems fishy that the cops didn't turn on their body cams until after they shot him 24 times. Cheers!

You can still point and shoot.  He had it pointed at the officer.  Point a gun at me and I will fire first if I can.

Who told you the body cameras where not on?  They were on the entire time. This post was edited by my2cents at May 3, 2021 3:55 PM MDT

ONE body cam was on, and not one of the ones worn by the officers who fired shots. It's not possible to aim a gun with your hands cuffed behind your back, all you can do accurately is suicide.

There was only one on duty officer who shot. That is the body camera video I viewed. It started before the shooting.
The other officer was working for Walmart at the time as security.  So he had no body camera as he was not on duty as a police officer at that moment.
The video shows them retrieving the gun off the suspect.

It comes down to this...you resist arrest.  You point a gun at a person...you will be shot.

Point a gun at me...I will shoot.

The video does NOT show him holding the gun or aiming it, only it being retrieved. I reiterate - it is NOT possible to aim a gun with your hands cuffed behind your back unless you're Houdini. It can't be done.

It shows the officer following the suspect. Who is the parking lot.  It shows the officer shoot...you see the him fall. Then you see them officer retrieve the gun.
Not even the families lawyer is claiming he was not pointing the gun towards the officer. Just saying he could not aim.
Again you point a gun a person (any person) with a gun and you can expect to be shot.

No one is required to let someone shoot at them. This post was edited by my2cents at May 3, 2021 7:52 PM MDT

    He could...he did.

He could not aim but he definately could point it. All you need to know the direction you want it to go.

I did a little research and I think I have figured out the why part of the question its because he was black. Cheers!
