BTW, masks protect others from you. It's whether people you encountered were wearing a mask and wearing it properly that matters more.

Masks just help prevent the wearer from exhaling those tiny droplets that can carry the virus into the spaces around where people are. Social distancing is probably more effective than wearing a mask. Then also there is the need for disinfecting your hands and your phone when you get home...
You didn't get it from wearing a mask, you got it from some entitled Karen NOT wearing one. They only need to breathe on you. Or breathe on something you touched.
