No, especially not now that I’ve lived in Southern California for more than a couple of decades: there are some particularly annoying genres or varieties of “music” from Mexico that are completely accordion-based, and we are lucky to be subjected to hearing them blasted all the time. Growing up far from the US/Mexico border where hearing Ranchero* “music” was infrequent, I thought I merely disliked the sound of accordions being played. Now, however, I absolutely abhor it. Grrrrrrr.
*I think the music is Ranchero, but I am not 100% positive.
