    I have a 15 lb. "mini-panther" who, after 16 years of being aloof,  has decided to become a lap cat.  To get into my lap, he stands up on the floor, digs his front claws into my leg, then hoists up the rest of his body.  Unfortunately, he proudly keeps his claws as sharp as daggers (attempting to cut them will get you bit).
