Why are so many Americans hesitant in getting the Covid shot?

Vaccine hesitancy is nothing new. Vaccines have been met with suspicions and hostilities for as long as they have existed. The spread of myths and misunderstandings are part of the reasons.

There has been so much in the media verifying how vicious, debilitating and deadly Covid can be.
To even consider not taking the vaccine is amazing to me.

I agree.  I couldn't wait to get my shots.  Of course, if you think that Covid is just a conspiracy for the government to control the population, then you wouldn't want to get it. :)

He should tell that to the 650,000+ people who died from it.

No he said the claim by the Dems that he was not responding to the virus was fake.  Even lefty SNOPES says he did not say that.

The logic in it all is what they don't understand. In other words, some of these people are idiots.

Because instead of thinking for themselves, they allow others who have no brain to do it for them.

Observed side effects up to and including death from a vaccine for a disease that 99+% of people under 70 survive.

    Blood clots
    Stroke or other cardiac problems
    Bell’s palsy
    Infertility
    Death

The number of people who suffer more than mild and extremely temporary side-effects is less than 0.01% - less than one one-hundredth the chance of dying from what is now a preventable disease. And almost all of those had underlying conditions which the vaccine merely augmented, rather than being the cause.

And the number of people who die from SARS-2 who are under age 70 is under .05%....I am not getting it. I do not know anyone who plans to get it. Even the people I know who are over 70.

They have no way of knowing the long term effects. This post was edited by my2cents at June 12, 2021 4:52 AM MDT

0.05% is 0.0005. 5 out of 10,000. I wonder who does these studies.

Selfishness. So many people suffering financial and health hardships and there are those who won't take a very small risk in order to end this pandemic. Ironically, many of them probably buy lottery tickets.
