    Lentils and pasta together

[Yes, I probably knew of lentils indirectly (obviously pasta, too) but not until a friend made lentils and pasta, with a perfect blend of various Italian seasonings, did I realize that this was now a favorite food for me.]

That does sound good. With no sauce, just herbs and spices and olive oil or butter? Garlic, maybe?

Just preparing the lentils, with adding a specific brand of "Italian Seasonings" (pre-made, in one bottle) - - and then add the lentils-and-spice blend over eggshell pasta.
Maybe its simplicity is its appeal to me, too.

Wombok (napa cabbage). I still hate regular cabbage, but the Chinese variety is edible.

Tofu, the many varieties of mushrooms (I knew about mushrooms, but didn't know how many varieties there are).

I mentioned broccoli and mushroom recently on a similar question.  But I can add quiche and burritos to that list.

  • Macarons. I think maybe I had seen them before, but had never tried one or thought they would be anything great. Now they're among my favorite desserts.
