    Probably about 60 degrees. Scary.

That is pretty steep. We have some very steep hills around the Vancouver area but not usually very high.

Does that translate to a 6% grade?

(Still trying to wrap my mind around math at my age!)

60%. That was just an estimate. It was a short climb up a hill on a highway entrance ramp that was being built.

Thanks. I do not understand, but I guess I don't really need to.

Maybe you can give me a lesson via PM sometime! :)

According to Wikipedia Mount Washington is more than a mile in elevation.

Elevation does not tell the whole story of steepness. Jes’ sayin’.

Elevation is the measurement of height. I imagine the roads and trails are somewhat sloping rather than straight up and down.

I learned to drive a stick shift in San Francisco.  hahahahaha it was terrifying.  I have driven all the really steep roads in that city.

I don't know. Steep, narrow, twisting and in poor enough condition that I should have thought about what it was going to be like going down in the dark!

I'll never forget that drive, but I'll never forget that sunset  either!

Kesters Road in the Adelaide suburb of Para Hills - the grade is steeper than one in four. First gear.
