Quietly. The weather has been uncooperative and the traffic will be dreadful trying to get anywhere. It's raining again (day three), so home is where I'll be.
Trying to keep the dogs calm, thinking of the wild and homeless/outdoor domestic animals who will be traumatized (along with combat veterans whose PTSD is triggered by the noise). Same as every year.
The dog I have now isn't terrified by fireworks and it's pretty surprising because when I got him he was a nervous wreak. He was living at a party house and the 24/7 fighting and yelling was making him neurotic so I stole him - I phoned the people the next day to let them know I took their dog and they eventually agreed that he was better off with me. It took a few years of theropy but nowadays he is fearless except for bath tubes bath days scare him. Cheers!

I've had dogs who didn't seem to mind them. Actually, maybe only 1 dog who was completely unfazed by them.
Both of mine are pretty comfortable right now and we're nearing 2 hours of nearly constant crack, boom. I use some natural supplements and just got a new kind with hemp and they seem pretty relaxed.
Glad you rescued the poor pup! Too many people don't take having pets seriously enough (in my opinion).
