Are you a prepper?

Do you store food and water incase of a disaster?  (Either food packets or canned) If there is a major disaster how long will you last on the food and water you have right now.

Not intentionally a prepper but I usually have enough supplies to last myself about 10 days (3 kilos oatmeal, 3 lbs pot barley, 2 1/2 kilos blueberries, 2 lkilos whole wheat flour, 2 kilos hamburger on hand right now.) I don't have any water stored, just what is in the toilet. This post was edited by Kittigate at July 9, 2021 11:29 AM MDT

Not really. But we do keep a good stock most things.  Just hate to run out.

OOOO I admire that. I have watched a few survival videos on U tube, it takes a lot of skill.

Google how to make a fire starting bow - it's a pretty easy way to start a fire. Cheers and happy weekend

Can you start one with a flashlight?

Remove the spare bulb, break the glass, leaving the filament intact. Put it into the reflector and place some very dry tinder in it. Turn on the flashlight and it will catch the tinder on fire. I saw it on a survival show.

I have a gallon of water, food for two weeks, plenty of candles and flashlights and my car doesn't usually have less than half a tank of gas.

Once  I took my dog out for a 2 day survival training. When I asked him how he felt after 2 days in the bush he said - ruff ruff. Cheers and happy weekend!

Acually I took my dog out for a 2 day tracking exercise and I didn't ask him how he felt after 2 days in the bush - I asked him if he sees any signs of which way they went and he said - bark bark  ( sometimes there are clues on tree bark). Cheers and happy weekend!

I have 2 backpacks, each with a 4-day supply of food for 3 people ... or 12-day supply for just me.
They also have emergency first aid stuff, water filtration/purification, and signal devices.
I keep 1 backpack in each vehicle.

Hopefully, it will be enough to get me out of the area of the disaster.

No. I don't live in fear of what might happen. Nor do I fear of Death itself. This post was edited by ONeg-84 at July 9, 2021 5:59 PM MDT
