Do you have a fast car?

I was driving (the speed limit) in my car and this song came on the car radio - -

Wow - - I forgot how much I enjoy the song and Tracy Chapman

Many of us do, theoretically. A vehicle’s potential speed might or might not be tested regularly by its owner/operator, yet remained harnessed behind how far the accelerator pedal is depressed. It’s not every driver who accessed that full probability of velocity.

    Yes, that is true.

    Oh, well.
My question was just an excuse to post the song, as everyone already probably knows. :)

I've gotten my car up to 95 mph on the PA turnpike.  I do believe it would go faster, but I was afraid that I would get spotted by a trooper and ticketed.  I would love to be able to open it up and see just how fast it will go.

    You GO!

(Ever since I learned to drive, if anyone commented/s on my driving, it's always that I always drive the speed limit or just a bit above, ha)

When I took my driving rest (at age 40), the inspector said I had passed, but that I drove a bit too slow.  He should see me now!

That wasn’t your very first driving test ever, was it?

Yes, it was.  I didn't learn how to drive until then and I passed the first time out. :)

In getting around New York City, there are many, many people who never even need to drive, correct?

Correct.  I always lived close to good public transportation and/or had boyfriends with cars who could drive me where I needed to go.  When I turned 40, I had ended a very long relationship and, since all my sisters had moved out to Long Island, I would take the Long Island Railroad out to see them, but their husbands insisted on driving me home on Sunday nights and I felt that was unfair.  It was the time for me to learn how to drive.

I'm with you there on having little desire to go fast.

If the the gif is about the song: Nice try but you're "barfing up the wrong tree" with me on this one.  :)

Or maybe the barfing is simply because you think you have a slow car.

It's all good with me, though, if you don't like the song. Like I said elsewhere, I'm used to my taste being different from others. :)

My car goes from 0 to 75 in 4 ½ miles.

I guess that would make it pretty slow, to take 4 1/2 miles to get up to 75mpg.
    :)

(Unless I'm missing something -- I'm not so good on car details, etc. )
