Making money off social media is a legitimate way of earning money, it’s very common and it has been for a while now.  It does not mean those people don’t have a primary 9-5 job. There is nothing wrong with having a side hustle, it’s not the freakin 50’s anymore.

I guess I'm thinking more along the lines of where people's priorities are placed. If climbing egg crates or doing similar asinine stunts to make money is their priority, then have at it. I prefer working a real job to earn a living for my family and for myself, without the unnecessary risks involved. Call me old-fashioned. I'll gladly accept the title. :)

Actually, that makes my point too. In accomplishing a certain number of online hits as you have explained, one can then achieve a monetary goal, and all without having expended very much effort.

I’m sure it takes more effort to go viral than you think it does. If you think not, give it a shot. You could be rich and have a chance at an 18th marriage to me ;p

You first. Once you’re filthy rich, I’ll have the necessary incentive to bond with you anew.

That’s not how this “relationship” works.

It was featured on a recent news program as a cautionary warning to parents and educators that youngsters might be doing it and to take steps to discourage its continuation. Hospitalizations have occurred due to this silliness, some of the worst injuries are to spines, pelvic bones, hips, arms, elbows and heads. Some insurance companies are reviewing whether or not videos of the acts can be introduced as evidence of intentional harm, thereby denying coverage. (As it should be; I agree with them fully.)

What's a TikTok? Is it contagious?

It is an online venue where people get to show the world how stupid they are.

I've never been on TikTok, but I saw that idiocy on the news.
