Actually, it’s quite different in the eyes of comics fans.

Perhaps in their opinions, to which they certainly are entitled.

Other than MLB does not own copyrights to their players. And all of the MLBs players are from the same universe.

Yea I heard. Before the end of the year, every character in comics will be bi-sexual, bi-gay, bi-lateral or whatever. This post was edited by Zack at October 13, 2021 11:46 AM MDT

I've never liked any of those hero movies.
Except when, by chance, I saw actor James  Marsden as "Cyclops" in some hero movie.

    Then they killed him off.

    True.  :)

Somehow, though, Marsden's my man.  :)
And I'm quite fan of his in general. To me, he's very successfully played a wide variety of roles. I always enjoy his presence in a movie.

Captain Marvel's sex change was more controversial. The original Captain was a Fawcett creation and older than Marvel Comics. Then when DC acquired Fawcett, Marvel hit them with a legal Cease and Desist to stop them using their trademark, then launched their own FEMALE Captain Marvel.
The male Cap was renamed Shazam - but that was supposed to be the magic word that made him transform, not the guy's name.

Yeah - I saw a documentary on that whole issue, when the Shazam movie came out.
I thought it would have been hilarious if Fawcett had filed a legal case against Marvel, when it was created, to stop using their character's name.
