    Wide. 
    I mean, what is a "wide" anyway?  I've had several doctors and dentists tell me to "open wide", but they never give or show me anything to open.  When I look around to locate this "wide" to open for them, they become upset and give the command even louder.  One dentist got so irate he finally told me to just "open up".  Wow, a dentist and a therapist!

      The fact that there’s actual activity is what makes the situation itself literal. There nothing figurative in what you’ve described.
