Is the Secret Service to be blammed for letting the Capital riot get out of hand?

The other day Trump claimed that if the Secret Service hadn't stopped him going to the Capital he would of stopped the rioters from doing anything bad. I think he would of made it worse by firing up the crowd. Trump let the riot rage on for hours while he watched it on TV before he gave his weak mixed message (go home but remember we love you). Cheers!

    I don't know about that.

But there is several videos showing the police holding doors open and watching as people walked into the Capital.  You cannot allow someone into the building and then claim they illegally trespassed.  Many people in jail will be released soon based on these videos.

Those were officers not doing their duty. Pretty sure that on a normal day a visitor has to go through a metal detector - there have been rioters charged with bringing guns, knives and other weapons into the Capital and maybe it was those police that let them in. Cheers!

Very few weapons charges. Only 23 people have been charged with weapons of any kind. (As of Jun 25 2021 latest date I could find)

People only charged with trespassing were not armed and will be released.   This is exculpatory evidence that the DOJ was suppressing.  I hope those who have been imprisoned without bail for it, sue the crap out of of the gov and get enough they never have to work again.

No one has been charged with insurrection....no one person.  Most are simply charged with criminal trespass.  This post was edited by my2cents at October 21, 2021 7:02 AM MDT

Coups d'etat are frequently bloodless, Corazon Aquino's "Orange Revolution" in the Philippines is a prime example - no weapons there. It was an attempted coup.

Maybe but that was not what was going on that day.

The lack of security needs to be investigated. We need to know who gave that order and why?

I gave a lot of thought to who gave the order and why the order was giving and concluded that it was  Colonel Mustard in the library with a candlestick. Then I woke up and figured it was Donald Trump because Trump had the most to gain by staying in power. By staying in power Trump could claim executive privilege to hide the things he does and also keep his hands in the cookie jar. Cheers!

Yet. It was Trump who offered the use of the NG leading up to Jan 6th.  The offer was denied.
The Cap police chief wanted to request them amd was also denied.   By both the Sergeant of Arms for the House and the SoAs for the Senate.  Who was their boss at the time?  Pelosi and McConnell.
Who benefited from the riot? Not Trump. It stopped any planned objections to specific states results. Planned investigations. Biden and the establishment benefited.

"Only 23 people?" Wasn't one armed person too many?

And those 23 should be charged.  But the news reports it  like everyone was armed and everyone was trying to take over the government.  That is just not what happened.

Were there crazies there? Yes absolutely.  Were all the crazies there Trump supporters? No.
Were people allowed in by police? Absolutely.

    This is all on video.

Anyone who did damage or harmed any person should be prosecuted regardless of which side of the political spectrum they are on.

Anyone who was allowed in by police and did not do any damage while inside should be released immediately.  They were not trespassing. They were invited in.

It is documented that Trump told over 30.000 lies well he was in office and that's just the public/twitter ones. I bet if you included the lies he told in private it would be over a million. Cheers!

He lied about things about which he didn't even have to lie!  He couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it.

Yeah, and those same lie counters claim Obama told a grand total of 8 lies in his entire 2 terms.   I think they need to learn how to count.

I don't care where his Dad was born.  His family was in Germany for almost all of his Grandmother's pregnacy.  He was conceived in Germany but born in NY.

He was saying it to help with trade deals.  Saying he liked the EU both of his parents were from countries there. (Germany and Scotland)

Again....I do not care where his Dad was born.

What matters is policy and what positions a politican has on different policies.

You don't believe the lie counters who claim Obama only told 8 lies, do you?  This post was edited by my2cents at October 21, 2021 5:05 AM MDT

The Secret Service doesn't order the President to do anything.
If he had told them he was going - they would have escorted him.

Yeah sometimes I think Trump doesn't give enough thought to his lies. Everybody knows that the Secret Service does what the president tells them to do so by saying they stopped him from going just makes him look weak. Cheers!

Trump punked out, his Service detail took him back to the WH on his own orders. "Cadet Bonespurs" is well known to be a craven coward.
