    Hello Randy:

It depends on how much dope you're carrying.

If the alternative is poverty/starvation for myself and my family, I might not be too bothered that I'm violating some country's haphazard and inconsistently enforced immigration laws.

Moreover, if the reason me and my family was impoverished is because the nation where I plan to emigrate used MASSIVE SUBSIDIES to create and export products which ruined my local economy, I might feel taking advantage of whatever that country had to offer in economic opportunity constitutes fair recompense.

Some people like that.  They love the feeling of looking over their shoulder, hiding from everything.  Worrying that something will come out and they will be found and returned  unceremoniously to where they once belonged.

One's life had to be pretty crappy beforehand to consider this option.

    Hello Randy,

Sorry for answering again, but there's more..

Lemme ask you this..  Let's say your family is starving and you go north to find work.  When you get to the border, you see TWO signs - one saying DO NOT CROSS, and the other saying HELP WANTED.  Which way're you gonna go??

Artificial lines on the ground are meaningless when your family is hungry..

  • Let me ask you this.

When I'm hungry and cold and I break into your house and take your goods with out asking or after you told me you don't have it to give.  Are you not going to call the police saying someone broke in your meaningless door and is trespassing on your imaginary property?

  • Aye.  The whole immigration thing is a mess no matter how you look at it.  I'm just saying that to make the point that there is a sound and logical foundation for both sides of the fence. ( no pun intended).  It's a delicate situation and both sides seem to bring hasty solutions. JMHO. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at November 2, 2016 1:09 PM MDT

    Hello Glis:

To ME, coming into a country to WORK and to be PRODUCTIVE isn't the same thing as breaking into your house and stealing your stuff...  But, that's just me.

  • Where is the money you make going?????? Still,  you deny me entry, for any reason, you expect to me respect that.

It's not so black and white.  There's a lot to it and there has be some radical changes to a lot of systems.  Not just send them home or let them stay. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at November 2, 2016 1:19 PM MDT

    Hello again, Glis:

If I earned it off the sweat of my brow, what difference does it make HOW I spend it..  If you buy flat screen TV's, you're sending your money to China..  Why can't I send my money to Mexico?

Furthermore, I'm not looking for your respect or your approval..  Just who are you, anyway??  You're the kind of person who'd BREAK up my family, and send my grandma back to Mexico..  You think THAT'S respectful behavior????

    Dude!!

  • You don't know that excon. You have no idea what I would do to or for your family.

It's just worth noting that if they aren't here legally, they have no right to be here. They showed the first sign of disrespect. It's also worth noting that a citizen has that right to send it where they choose.  A person who isn't doesn't really.
Like I said to WW, it's not that black and white or an easy solution to cluster**** we have.  Both sides have very valid arguments and it needs sorting through instead of knee-jerk measures to get past it.

Goods being sold untariffed and imported despite it destroying our economy and manufacturing independence while sucking our collective wealth  is a whole other issue.

    Hello again, Glis:

It's also worth nothing that when grandma came across the border, there WASN'T a do not cross sign..  There was ONLY a help wanted sign..  In the 50's EVERYBODY hired them.  They worked HARD, and did work NOBODY wanted to do.  They picked your lettuce.  They mowed your lawns..  They babysat your children.  They made your beds in your hotel and washed your dishes..  Johnny Carson joked about them on TV every night.. NOBODY minded them being here...

And, then the recession happened and people lost jobs.  The woes of the country were blamed on immigrants.

But, when MOST people came here, in popular culture, it was NOT disrespectful at all.
