      Here in Southern California, it’s taken us a decade to get ten cumulative inches of rain. Grrrrrrr, curse this drought!

  • I've experienced street flooding during severe thunderstorms.  I took off my shoes and waded home in ankle-deep water.  I've never experienced my car or my house being underwater.

    Yes back in 2010. 19 inches of rain fell over two day's time. It caused flooding in several states. My little area was fine, but several blocks away it was all flooded.

    Through the various effing places I lived, one particular place I live in Quincy had somebody say that there is bad flooding "down there" so watchout. Lets check it out. Yup!

    My wife and I live in a ground floor duplex with the lower floor in the basement. We had three inches of water down there during the hurricane in September. The floor had to be demolished and redone with ceramic tile. But I have also seen flooding during my time living in both NYC and New Haven, CT.
