70" perfect size for my living room.

Best size depends on the size of the room and where you are seated.  This post was edited by my2cents at January 6, 2022 9:10 AM MST

The one downstairs in the living room is 65”, the one upstairs is about 51” (I believe). I spend approximately 60% of my television-watching time on the upstairs one, 30% on the downstairs one, and the remainder watching other televisions outside of the home. Answering this made me realize these percentages; it’s not something that I’ve ever given much conscious thought.

As far as appropriateness is concerned, I was against buying the large one that we have downstairs, my wife is the one who wanted it. I saw it as unnecessarily large, a smaller one would have sufficed. It’s it’s so big that brackets had to be installed on the wall to hold it.

I have a 40+ year old 27" Zenith television which is just right for me.  I have never had to have it repaired and it still works perfectly.  I will replace it when one of two things happen:  (1) it stops working or (2) I move and don't want to schlep that cumbersome set with me.

We have one in the family room that is 60".
    A 32" in the basement.
    A 25" in my wife's bedroom.
All are suitable for their locations. This post was edited by Element 99 at January 6, 2022 8:55 PM MST

We have a 50” Samsung in the living room that fits nicely over the fireplace, a 40” Samsung in the basement, and a 50” Sony in the master bedroom that we took from my mother’s house after she died, so the price was right.

I have a 55" downstairs that has been turned on about five times since 2016.  I generally spend my time upstairs in my office which has a 32" TV.  That really is a perfect size for a bedroom/office.  The bigger one downstairs is a good size for the space down there.
