What do you do, if anything, with lotion at the bottom of the bottle?

With lotions in bottles like these, when lotion no longer comes out of the pump, we know there is still some lotion remaining at the bottom of the bottle.
Do you discard the bottle once the pump squirts nothing or do you somehow retrieve that "bottom lotion"?

I cut the bottle down to about an inch and a half and use what's in the bottom.  Cover with foil if there's still some left until it's all used up.

    Hey, thanks!
I've never shared my thoughts before about this. :)
I'm thinking the bottle would be difficult to cut.
I've sometimes taken the pump out of the bottle and then bang the bottle up and down in my palm.

You could bang the bottle, but by the time it gets to the top, you lose a lot of lotion.  I have a large, very sharp serrated carving knife which cuts through the plastic easily.

I'm going to look into trying it, too. I have a big serrated knife, too.

I usally fill it up with some of my bath water then shake it up and add it to my bath water. Cheers!

That's another good  idea I've not tried. Thanks. :)

I turn it upside down and give it a hard shake (bottom toward top).  I then unscrew the top and use what's left.  I continue to do this until I can get no more lotion out.  I also use this with salad dressing bottles.

Thanks, Shuhak. I'm somehow glad to hear about others' specific procedures with the lotion.  :)

I use the upside down method until there is barely a centimeter of lotion left to eek eke out of it, then I cut the bottle from neck to foot along one of its sides, scoop out whatever remains. I’m way too cheap to just let any portion of it go to waste. I figure that since I paid for 100% of the product, I will use 100% of the product.

Since you paid for it, what do you use the bottle for?

The bottle is for holding the lotion. Try to keep up.

Yes, I agree. I so often think, "Hey, there's still good lotion in here."

I'm going to try some of these ideas. Thanks for sharing yours, too.  :)

I just throw out bottle and start a new one. Don't judge me.

No way will I do that, I'm not judging.  :)
In fact, I get it, too.
I do though currently pound the bottles upside down on my palms for many days until I then throw it out. Well, throw into recycling bag. :)

Not judging, but sometimes there's a fair amount of lotion left in the bottom.  I can sometimes get 2-3 more applications out of what's left.

I find my skin feels better when I use lotion.

But, hey - - not buying lotion in the first place saves me from wasting it.  :)

I add a little water to it and use it on my legs after a shower.
