Which kind of body of water would be your preference to have a home on the shore of; a lake, a river or the great huge salty ocean?

If you happen to be an old sea dog and know how to listen carefully, you can hear the ocean spin her yarns of great sea ventures of ye great glorious olden days of wooden ships and sail.

I'm going to have to say a lake because, I think, of the three, lakes are the least hazardous.  Rivers ever increasingly overflow their banks and the ocean gets all kinds of violent due to a number of geological factors.

I had the misfortune of vacationing in southern Florida in August of 1992 when Hurricane Andrew blew through!  One natural disaster in one lifetime is more than enough for me!!!

Why would you go to Florida in the summer? Way too hot.

Trust me, it wasn't my choice.  I was a teenager back then so, whenever my family said, "We're going", I kind of had no choice in the matter.

Hey nothing wrong with being cautious!  Besides, as I said, one natural disaster per lifetime is far more than enough for me!

None.   Oceans, lakes, rivers and creeks are beautiful, but they have a precocious side.  When they get out of their beds (and they do), they always get up on the "wrong side".
I'd prefer to live far from them

Specifically Mille Lacs Lake in Minneapolis. I envision a dream home there.

The two of us, you and I, hopping into the shower together beforehand should take care of things like that.

Mille Lacs is French for a thousand lakes. So Mille Lacs Lake means A Thousand Lakes Lake. Does that make sense?
